ASE, is short for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. Since 1972 the non-profit organization has worked to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying automotive professionals. Students in the Automotive pathway have an opportunity to be ASE certified. ASE promotes excellence in vehicle repair, service and parts distribution. ASE Certified Professionals work in every part of the automotive service industry. Passing an ASE Certification test, automotive technicians must have two years of on the job training or one year of on the job training and a two-year degree in automotive repair to qualify for certification. To remain ASE certified, professionals must retest every five years to keep up with ever-advancing automotive technology.
Medical Assistants (CCMAs) are a vital part of clinical patient care. Because CCMAs are trained to perform so many different tasks, they are in great demand in the workforce. Whether you want to work in a doctor’s office or a large hospital system, becoming a CCMA with NHA shows that you are knowledgeable and ready to be a valued member of a healthcare team. Having a nationally accredited certification, like the CCMA, can help you stand out. Certification may also be required or preferred for certain job opportunities in the profession. All of the students in MAHST IV/MA class have the opportunity to take the NHS - CCMA.

NIMS sets industry skills standards, certifies individual skills against the standards, accredits training programs that meet NIMS quality requirements, and promotes innovative solutions, such as competency-based apprenticeship, to connect credentialed and work-ready individuals with employers. Students in the Precision Machining pathway have the opportunity to receive certifications in Milling level 1, Grinding level 1, Turning between centers level 1, Turning Chucking level 1, Layout and Benchwork, Measurement materials and safety, Drill press level 1, CNC mill operation, CNC lathe operation, CNC milling level 1, CNC lathe Level 1.
The Food Handlers card is approved for use in San Bernardino County, by the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health. This program prepares food handlers to enter the workforce by providing the required food safety information as specified by regulations of the workers’ state and local government. All students in the Foodservice and Hospitality pathways have an opportunity to be certified.
The ACS Stop the Bleed certification is important because it teaches people how to control bleeding in an emergency, which can save lives. The number 1 cause of preventable death after injury is bleeding. With 3 quick actions, you can be trained and empowered to save a life.
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) provide out of hospital emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical services (EMS) system. EMTs have the basic knowledge and skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport patients ranging from non-emergency and routine medical transports to life threatening emergencies. Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response system, under medical oversight. Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance. Emergency Medical Technicians are a critical link between the scene of an emergency and the health care system. Students who are turning 18 by their senior year, can take this course, Taught by Mrs. Arredondo. One day is at AVHS, the other day is at the VVC Training Center. Upon completion of the course, students can sit for the National Registered EMT (NREMT) exam to be nationally certified.
Adobe certification is an industry-recognized credential that demonstrates proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications and foundational knowledge for a digital media career. There are several types of Adobe certifications including Illustrator, Premiere, and Photoshop.
Our registered Pre-Apprenticeship program, offered by Apple Valley High School in collaboration with the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools and the Western States Regional Council of Carpenters (WSRCC). This program aims to prepare students for success in Registered Apprenticeships and other high-quality apprenticeship programs, ultimately leading to rewarding careers. By participating in the Pre-Apprenticeship program, your child will gain essential technical skills, interview preparation, and more, while receiving a Registered Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate from the State of California - Division of Apprenticeship Standards upon completion.
Through this program, students will also have the unique advantage of being linked to Registered Apprenticeships, providing them with opportunities to pursue debt-free education while being gainfully employed. Courses for students that cover topics like leadership, health and safety, and professional development. Students can earn certificates for completing courses.
Immerse2learn online training solutions are used to develop a skilled workforce in the fields such as engineering, manufacturing and automation.
OSHA's Safety and Health Fundamentals Certificate program support's OSHA's mission by training public and private sector employees in occupational safety and health to reduce incident rates for workers. Participants have the opportunity to earn certificates for Construction, Maritime, and General Industry training.
